New Products at Walgreens!

On my recent trip to Walgreens, I noticed that a lot of beauty and skincare lines are releasing new products for Fall and Winter. I took some pictures (on my camera phone) and found out some information about the new items they are stocking, including Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit products, St. Ives In-Shower Exfoliating Body Polish, Gilette Shave Cream, and more!
Among the new things I found was St. Ives In-Shower Exfoliating Body Polish. This looks like a nice, affordable ($8. for a large tub) body scrub for the colder months. There are two formulas here, one is "Mineral" and the other is "Healthy Brilliance Brighten & Glow", both look promising and spa-like.
For the Back-To-School and sport season, it looks like Sinful Colors has released a new collection called "Team Colors". As we all know, Sinful Colors are awesome and with them, the price is always right (at around $1.99 each). I didn't get a chance to look at all the shade names, but there was a deep shimmering maroon, a bright yellow, forest green, and other shades that look like your school's logo. Depending on your Walgreens' stock availability, I believe there is also a black shade, a deep cobalt blue, and a white.
Interestingly enough, Gilette Satin Care (my personal favorite brand of shave gel, by the way) has come out with a new scent called "Alluring Avocado". My Walgreens had a mini size for about $2, but I wasn't daring enough to try this scent. I like avocados and all, but generally I don't think they smell that delicious. Apparently this scent is infused with aloe, jasmine, and orange blossom as well. A user on Buzzillions has a rave about it, so maybe I'll try it when I run out of my Wild Berry shave gel!
What really excited me, however, was Neutrogena's line of acne fighting products now infused with pink grapefruit. I already use and love their Body Clear Body Wash, so I was happy to see a less medicinal scent infused with microbeads. I will definitely be trying the Pink Grapefruit Body Clear Body Wash as soon as I use up mine!
I also made a little haul on this trip. Reviews and pictures to come within the next few days!

Celebrity Crave: Vanessa Hudgens' Shiny Leggings

Vanessa Hudgens seems to be a fan of showcasing interesting fashion trends. Here we have an image of her performing at the Neutrogena Fresh Faces Concert wearing a pair of black, leatheresque shiny, skin tight leggings.
Although it is definitely a blast from the '80's, I think that this trend is surprisingly fresh. I also think that this style really highlights any flaws you may have and could be rather dangerous to wear unless your lower half is picture perfect.
Regardless, if you are interested in looking like Vanessa, or jazzing up your own style with a pair of rock star leggings, check out this pair from American Apparel:
For around $40, they are also available in red, gold, copper, silver, and of course black.

I decided to go with a fairly tame 'Face Of The Week' for my first one. It's not too exciting, but I wanted to get my face out there so that everyone knows who is behind all this Shop With a Vengeance mayhem :)

The photos are unretouched, just cropped up. I have been having a bad skin week, so ignore the rough/blemishy condition of mine right now; I had a pretty bad breakout due to Shiseido SPF42 PA+++ Foundation (Fragrance and too heavy, no no) and possibly also Origins Clean Energy Cleansing Oil (too many botanical extracts for my skin to handle!). I have been trying to nurture my skin back to health and bought a bunch of stuff to do so last night... so I'll be back in business in no time!
I did this look on Tuesday so that I could actively comment on it and let you all know how it turned out. I don't usually use Almay's foundation, but I had some laying around so I figured I'd use it. (Now I remember why I stopped using it... it made me very oily, very quickly, and the rest of my makeup seemed to slide off within a few hours!) I am always on a foundation hunt that will probably continue forever. The one thing that seems to always work for me (that I've repurchased countless times) is Milani's Mineral Compact, so I'll likely be back to that right away.
I like the lip stain a lot, and not just because I made it! I think the end result color is pretty and natural, but still very rosy. I wouldn't wear it every day, but I would definitely make it a staple for at least once a week.

Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara Review!

Neutrogena's new Healthy Volume Mascara promises 400% Fuller Lashes with the slogan, "Don't just coat your lashes, build them from the inside out". How does Neutrogena claim to accomplish this seemingly outlandish goal of quadrupling the size of your lashes? Easy... with a little help from good old-fashioned Olive Oil and of course, our dear friend, Almond Oil.
I recently purchased this mascara in "Rich Black" from Target (also $7.99 at Drugstore.com), mostly because of my affinity for all things almond. I was pleasantly surprised by the formula, which looked natural, but better. Does it really get your lashes 4x more voluminous? Perhaps over time, as the oils ARE supposed to be good for your lashes. Other than that, this just looks like any other Neutrogena mascara. It has an oversized wand, no offensive or noticeable scent, and it wears very well... depending on your skin type.
The reason I say "depending" is that you need to make sure make sure you don't put any sort of oils or oil like products on your lash area before applying. This may sound like common sense but... hey... I had an incident. If you follow this one simple rule, Neutrogena's mascara will not smear, flake, or cause you any problem relating to wearing off. Also, if your skin or your eyelids get super oily/sweaty, this product might smudge a little bit under your eye area after a few hours, just because it's not waterproof.
If you don't have any of these issues and your face will be staying dry, this mascara will work for you! When it comes time for removal, any eye-makeup remover will do the trick.
All in all, I'm torn. If you are looking for a daytime, natural looking mascara that won't budge on your normal to dry skin, check this out! If you like to use oils to moisturize or naturally produce a lot of oil, you might wanna steer clear of Neutrogena's Healthy Volume Mascara.

For those days your lips are feeling a little pale but you don't want to bother with a sticky gloss or precisely applied lipstick, I strongly recommend Neutrogena's MoistureShine Tinted Lip Balm. This product is a highly pigmented balm, bordering on lipstick pigmentation really. I have one in "Natural" (shown), and I keep it in my makeup bag at all times in case my lips lose their own natural glow throughout the day. It's a peachy-based rose... I also tried a different shade a while back that I liked. I think it might have been "Fresh", a deeper true rose shade.Anyway, Neutrogena's tinted lip balms apply smoothly with a bit of gloss. They don't dry out your lips, but at the same time they don't excessively moisturize either. It doesn't have a flavor or scent, which can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. I keep it around mainly for the color payoff... a little goes a long way. It comes in typical lip balm twist-up stick form, great for quick, on-the-go applications! I've even layered it with regular lip balm for extra moisturizing, or with gloss for extra shine. It's like a no-fuss lipstick.
These balms are perfect for people like me who don't always have time to leave the house with a full face of makeup, yet don't want to look completely washed out. And, if you have a makeup emergency, you could even dab a bit on your cheeks to use as a cream blush! (Not that I've done this, but I've heard that you can, lol.) They come in several shades and have an SPF of 20. They'd be great for a day at the beach as well once the weather breaks!Check 'em out :)
